Every time zone, all at once

No more clock changes (since Nov 1, 2026)

  • British Columbia · Pacific Time, UTC−7 year-round. The Peace River area and Creston were already there.
  • Alberta · Alberta Time, UTC−6 year-round. BC's East Kootenay (Cranbrook, Fernie, Invermere) follows Alberta.
  • Golden, BC · switches to UTC−7 to match the rest of BC.
  • Manitoba · UTC−5 year-round. Northwestern Ontario west of 90°W (Kenora) follows Manitoba.
  • Northwest Territories · UTC−6 year-round, matching Alberta.

Already fixed, no change

  • Yukon · UTC−7 since 2020.
  • Saskatchewan · UTC−6. Lloydminster keeps Alberta's time, which is now the same thing.
  • Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii.

Still changing clocks twice a year

  • The rest of the US, from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.
  • Ontario (east of 90°W), Quebec, Atlantic Canada, Newfoundland and Nunavut.
  • So from November to March, Vancouver is an hour ahead of Seattle. Good luck with that standup.

Questions people keep asking

What time zone is British Columbia in now?

Since November 1, 2026, most of BC uses Pacific Time at UTC−7 all year and no longer changes its clocks. Communities in the East Kootenay, like Cranbrook, Fernie and Invermere, follow Alberta at UTC−6.

Does Alberta still change its clocks?

No. Alberta Time stays at UTC−6 all year, which is the same as its old summer time. The Northwest Territories matches it.

Is Vancouver the same time as Seattle?

From mid-March to early November, yes. In winter, Vancouver is one hour ahead of Seattle, because Washington still falls back and BC doesn't.

What is the time difference between Vancouver and Toronto?

Three hours from mid-March to early November, and two hours in winter. Toronto still changes its clocks; Vancouver doesn't.

What is the time difference between Vancouver and Calgary?

One hour, all year. Neither BC nor Alberta changes its clocks any more, so the gap never moves.

Which provinces and territories don't change their clocks?

British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon and the Northwest Territories. In the US, Arizona (outside the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii don't either.

How do I schedule a meeting across time zones?

Enter your time and date, pick the target city, then choose Create calendar invite. The event is saved at a fixed moment, so every attendee's calendar shows it in their own local time.
