Privacy and cookies

Time Zone Hell has no accounts, no ads and no analytics or tracking scripts. We don't collect your name, email or location on our servers.

What we store on your device

A few small cookies, all starting with tzh_, so the site remembers your choices next time:

• Your location: the city you set as "your location" in the converter.
• Your last target: the last city or time zone you converted to.
• Favourites: places you saved with "Add to favourites".
• Meeting planner cities: the locations you added to the planner.
• Cookie notice: that you've seen this notice, so it doesn't keep appearing.

They stay on your device, aren't sent to anyone else and expire after about a year. If your browser blocks cookies, the same choices are kept in your browser's local storage instead.

Your location

We work out your time zone from your device's own settings, inside your browser. Nothing about your location is sent to us. When you search for a city that isn't in our list, the search text is sent to the free Open-Meteo geocoding service to find it.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard web requests (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and block attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Fonts load from Google Fonts.

Clearing it

Clear cookies and site data for timezonehell.com in your browser settings and everything above is gone. Questions: [email protected].
